  • Title: Museum Assistant
  • Supervision: Reports to the Museum Administrator
  • Employment Type: Full-time, Fixed-term contract
  • Contract Duration: 8 weeks
  • Salary: $20.35 per hour
  • Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings or weekends for special events
  • Location: The Thorold Museum, Thorold, Ontario (accessible by public transit)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage social media content
  • Work & Maintain Museum Collection
  • Develop and maintain WordPress site
  • Conduct digitization work
  • Provide exceptional customer service to promote the museum and its collection


  • Citizenship: Must be a Canadian citizen
  • Age: Between 15 and 30 years old
  • Education: Must have completed a term/semester of full-time studies and be returning to a full-time education program
  • Knowledge and experience in:
    • Social media scheduling and content development
    • Photography

Desirable Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Teamwork abilities


  • On-site parking


  • 8-hour shifts, with flexibility for weekends as needed

Language Requirements:

  • English (preferred)
  • French not required
